Your kitten’s health is the foundation of everything we do. Every kitten that leaves MeoWoff has been veterinarian-examined, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and screened for breed-appropriate genetic conditions. This page explains exactly what our health guarantee covers, what genetic testing our breeding cats undergo, how to file a claim, and what your rights are under state law.
This health guarantee is part of your purchase agreement with MeoWoff Inc. and is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service.

1. What Every Kitten Receives Before Delivery
Before any kitten leaves our care, it receives age-appropriate veterinary care and travel preparation, which may include the following depending on the kitten’s age, breed, and transportation requirements:
- Veterinary examination confirming the kitten is fit for travel
- Age-appropriate vaccinations, including FVRCP and rabies where applicable
- Preventative deworming treatment
- Microchip implantation and registration information
- FeLV and FIV testing prior to sale
- International veterinary passport documenting vaccinations and medical history
- Breed-specific genetic testing documentation, when available for the breeding parents
Copies of the kitten’s veterinary and travel documentation are provided at the time of pickup or delivery. Available parental genetic testing documentation may also be provided upon request.
2. Your Health Guarantee — Three Tiers of Protection
Our health guarantee is structured in separate coverage categories, each subject to the timelines, procedures, exclusions, and limitations described in the signed Sales Agreement and Health Guarantee documentation.
| Tier | What It Covers | Coverage Period | Your Remedies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 — Infectious Disease | Serious contagious illness or health conditions identified shortly after pickup or delivery | 5 days from date of delivery | Depending on the situation and supporting veterinary documentation, resolutions may include return approval, replacement kitten options, partial reimbursement consideration, veterinary support assistance, or other solutions offered by MeoWoff |
| Tier 2 — Congenital & Hereditary Defects | Qualifying hereditary or congenital conditions affecting the kitten’s long-term health | 1 year from date of delivery | Depending on diagnosis and supporting documentation, resolutions may include replacement options, reimbursement consideration, or other remedies described in the Health Guarantee |
| Tier 3 — FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) | FIP-related coverage specifically described in the Health Guarantee | 6 weeks (full coverage) + 6 months (partial coverage) from date of delivery | Store credit equal to 100% of the kitten purchase price within the first 6 weeks, or 50% store credit between 6 weeks and 6 months, as described in the Sales Agreement |
All claims require supporting veterinary documentation and are subject to review under the procedures outlined in the signed Sales Agreement and Health Guarantee documentation.
3. Breed-Specific Genetic Testing
MeoWoff works with experienced breeding partners and catteries that may perform breed-relevant genetic testing and health screening depending on the breed, lineage, breeder practices, and test availability for specific conditions.
Because genetic screening standards vary between breeds and because not all conditions have commercially available or universally accepted testing protocols, the tests listed below are examples of commonly used breed-related screening practices within responsible breeding programs and are not guaranteed for every individual kitten, litter, sire, or dam.
| Breed | Genetic Tests Required for Sire & Dam |
|---|---|
| Maine Coon | HCM, SMA, PKDef, PKD, echocardiogram screening |
| British Shorthair / British Longhair | PKD, HCM, Blood Type |
| Scottish Fold / Scottish Straight | PKD, HCM, cartilage-related breeding screening |
| Bengal | PRA-b, PKDef, HCM |
| Sphynx / Bambino / Elf | HCM screening, Blood Type |
| Ragdoll | HCM, PKD |
| Siberian | PKD, PKDef, HCM |
| Munchkin | HCM, PKD |
| Exotic / Persian | PKD, PRA |
| Russian Blue | HCM screening, wellness screening |
| Abyssinian | PRA, PKDef |
| Burma (Burmese) | HK, Blood Type |
| Oriental / Devon Rex / Cornish Rex | PRA, HCM, PKD |
Available parental testing documentation may be provided upon request when such records are available from the breeding program.
No genetic testing or cardiac screening protocol can eliminate all health risks, and the absence of a detected mutation does not guarantee that a cat will never develop a medical condition later in life.
4. Conditions Covered Under the 2-Year Genetic Guarantee
MeoWoff provides a limited 1-year genetic health guarantee covering qualifying hereditary or congenital conditions that substantially affect the kitten’s long-term health and are confirmed by a licensed veterinarian and supporting diagnostic documentation.
Examples of conditions that may qualify for review under the Health Guarantee include:
- HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy)
- SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy)
- PKDef (Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency)
- PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease)
- PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy)
- Severe congenital organ defects
- Osteochondrodysplasia
- Severe congenital hernias requiring surgical correction
Coverage eligibility, claim review, exclusions, and available remedies are governed exclusively by the signed Sales Agreement and Health Guarantee documentation.
No genetic screening or breeding program can eliminate all health risks, and MeoWoff does not guarantee that a kitten will never develop medical conditions later in life.
5. FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) Coverage
While FIP is not considered a hereditary or congenital condition, MeoWoff provides limited FIP-related accommodation under the following terms:
First 6 Weeks After Delivery — Full Store Credit
If the kitten passes away due to FIP within the first 6 weeks following delivery, and the diagnosis is confirmed by necropsy performed by a licensed veterinary pathologist, MeoWoff will provide store credit equal to 100% of the kitten’s base purchase price.
Weeks 7 Through Month 6 — Partial Store Credit
If the kitten passes away due to FIP between week 7 and month 6 following delivery, confirmed by necropsy, MeoWoff will provide store credit equal to 50% of the kitten’s base purchase price.
After 6 Months
FIP occurring more than 6 months after delivery is not covered.
Necropsy Requirement
FIP claims require necropsy confirmation by a licensed veterinary pathologist.
Store credit is the sole remedy for FIP-related claims.
6. Maintaining Your Health Guarantee
To maintain eligibility under the Health Guarantee, buyers must:
- Have the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within 5 calendar days of pickup or delivery
- Maintain routine veterinary care and vaccinations appropriate for the kitten’s age and health status
- Retain veterinary records and diagnostic documentation
- Provide proper indoor care, nutrition, and supervision
- Avoid abuse, neglect, or improper handling
- Refrain from declawing the kitten, which voids the Health Guarantee under the Sales Agreement
Failure to comply with these requirements may affect eligibility for Health Guarantee claims.

9. What This Guarantee Does NOT Cover
To maintain transparency, the following conditions, situations, and outcomes are not covered under the Health Guarantee unless otherwise specifically stated in the signed Sales Agreement:

- Non-severe parasites, fleas, ear mites, ringworm, or similar conditions that may occur after delivery

Certain conditions, including cryptorchidism (undescended testicles), minor hernias, low-grade heart murmurs, cosmetic traits, or developmental variations, may not qualify for coverage unless they result in a substantial long-term health impairment.
