“Black” refers to the base Color, while the tabby look comes from the agouti gene that turns the Coat Pattern “on” across each hair. In classic tabby (N 22), pigment organizes into swirls and blotches; in ticked tabby, a different allele distributes bands along individual hairs. Eye Color commonly ranges from gold to green, complementing the deep black-brown contrast.
Because patterning is genetically driven, pedigree records (your kitten’s official pedigree) list the color code – N 22 – so you know exactly what you’re adopting. If you enjoy the science, we can arrange Genetic Testing and include results with your kitten’s documentation.
Maine Coons are substantial in Size with boxy muzzles, tall lynx-tipped ears, a regal ruff, and a long, flowing tail. The N 22 Black Tabby pattern adds dramatic contrast to the luxurious double coat, highlighting that powerful “gentle giant” silhouette.
Grooming is straightforward:
We provide a grooming checklist with every Maine Coon cat for sale, so your routine is easy from day one.
These cats are social, playful, and doglike – followers, not hiders. They chirp, fetch toys, and love being near their people. Families often choose our friendly N 22 Black Tabby Maine Coon kittens for sale because they blend big-heart cuddles with confident curiosity.
Classic N 22 is one of the most recognized tabby patterns in Maine Coons, so you won’t be waiting years to meet the right kitten. That said, show-quality pattern clarity and symmetry can be limited in each litter, which is why our Waiting List can be helpful.

It is generally considered safe to spay kittens before they are fully grown. In fact, many veterinarians recommend spaying or neutering kittens as early as 8-16 weeks old. This is known as early-age spay/neuter or pediatric spay/neuter.
Early spaying has several benefits:
However, it is important to consult with a veterinarian to determine the best time to spay a kitten based on it individual health, breed, and circumstances. We will definitely do this if the age and health conditions of a kitten allow occurring the surgery before being shipped. We will not neuter/spay the kitten in the cases if a buyer will ask to neuter a kitten on its own or will buy the breeding rights for an additional cost with the kitten)
